Last week, I took the time to reflect on the diversity of Grantland’s Podcasts in a piece for The AP Party. Link to the full article below.
Media consumption is now a niche-based activity. Whether it’s television, online or print, if we don’t like the way something is presented or the lens through which it’s packaged, we find a different website, change the channel or put away the newspaper.
Sometimes this is for our benefit. Why listen to film a critic with different tastes and waste $12 on a film that we know we won’t enjoy? Other times, this method of consumption is detrimental to our own understanding of any issue that might have real-world importance like U.S. relations with Russia or something relatively innocuous such as whether or not Don Draper actually told us “to buy the world a Coke.” Read More…
Hey everyone. It’s been too long but don’t worry, I come bearing gifts. My friend Nick and I have shot the first episode of our new show “Whatchya Got On.” It’s the show where we play a game and discuss everything that’s mattered to us in the world of Movies, TV, Sports, and Video Game news.
Below is episode 1.5 of the show. You might be asking, “Why 1.5?” Well this is the second time we shot the show. Unfortunately, we failed to record the audio for the first episode so it’s lost forever.
On this episode we discuss coping with the lack of TV on during the summer, our thoughts on 22 Jump Street, my thoughts on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the first July without a new NCAA Football game and close it out with the games we’re looking forward to must this fall.
Enjoy the episode and be sure to subscribe to my channel on YouTube to see the episodes as soon as they go online. You can also follow me on Twitch to watch the broadcasts live.
In the second episode of the “5 Minute Movie Review Game Show” I play some NBA 2k14 while I review Captain America: The Winter Soldier. When you’re done watching the video review read my much more in-depth written review. Also be sure to subscribe to my channel.
